underscores (also known as April Harper Grey) is an electronic musician based in San Francisco, and member of the music collective six impala. She also collaborates with SCRIPT as curryrice, and is a member of Papaya & Friends with gabby start (fka Knapsack), Henson Popa, and Heydays (aka Ho Bobby). In 2021, she released her debut album, fishmonger, which features a variety of different genres, such as indie rock, bedroom pop and ambient music. Later on that year she released a sequel to fishmonger, titled boneyard aka fearmonger. In 2023, underscores announced the start of a new era of music called Wallsocket. The album was inspired by a fictional town in Michigan that is part of an ongoing ARG she created.
