Ayah Marar
Ayah Marar is a name the entire dance music community is talking about right now. If you know about dance music, you'll know about her.\r \r Dubbed 'The Queen of UK Bass' she is currently on an amazing 6 month roll that has seen her release singles on Ministry of Sound, Hospital Records, and now for the very first time on her very own HUSSLE GIRL imprint.\r \r 'Mind Controller' sees her finally set up shop in her hybrid world of dance music and pop.\r \r Her finest remix package to date includes dubstep's new boys Cutline pick up where they left off with the incredible UKF release 'Runnin'. The mix has already had several plays from MistaJam as well as picking up over 250,000 youtube views within 2 days of going up online. The much anticipated Shock One, LV, and Trufix & Thunderskank mixes are set to drop in February.\r \r It all started last summer with a collaboration with Wretch 32 'Traktor' producer Yogi with the amazing dubstep ballad 'FOLLOW U'. It was then signed to Ministry of Sound after its first play on MistaJam's 1XTRA show.\r \r The single went on to become a classic within the genre, spawning massive remixes from the likes of Trolley Snatcha and Xilent, and gaining BBC 1XTRA playlist recognition (for 5 weeks) and also being added to the prestigious BBC RADIO ONE IN.NEW.MUSIC.WE.TRUST playlist.\r \r The dark video and remixes have already amassed over 2 million views over youtube and have launched Ayah and her iconic look and voice in the UK and US.\r \r Her breakthrough last year happened alongside the birth of the already iconic UKF. She went onto become known as 'MISS UKF' due to all the support the site showed her and her music. They have already posted 7 of her songs and remixes over the last 8 months amassing over 3 million views, and she was the only unsigned artist to appear on their main stage at the debut UKF event at Alexandra Palace in December 2011.\r \r Ayah then returned to her roots after 'Follow U' with undoubtedly the biggest Drum'n'Bass vocal anthem of the year, 'CROSS THE LINE'. It was a collaboration with Austrian producers Camo & Krooked, released on the legendary DnB label Hospital Records (who Ayah had released a single with 5 years ago).\r \r It went on to spend 6 weeks on the BBC 1xtra playlist, and to quote Mistajam: "This lady has my favourite voice on records right now". On his breakfast show, soul veteran Trevor Nelson added: "This is my favourite drum'n'bass song in a long, long, long time".\r \r Miss Marar ended the year with the 'Cross The Line' video peaking at no.3 on MTV Dance, while she toured with Camo & Krooked and the Hospitality event all around the UK and Europe.\r \r 2011 ended with her supporting Example on his huge UK tour throughout December, before being voted Woman of the Year by XFM alongside Man of the Year, DJ Fresh.\r \r She is already a star in her homeland, Jordan, and across the middle east, with her videos on constant MTV rotation. A middle eastern tour is set for April this year and she even hosts her own dance music show on the region's largest commercial radio station.\r \r Its been a massively exciting journey ... Ayah can count Calvin Harris, Toddla T, and DJ Marky as musical collaborators, and now that she has paid all her dues, she's ready to become the biggest female artist in dance music, a genre she both knows and adores.\r \r I hope you're ready 2012 …
