St Petersburg resident Ivan Karasev aka Torn is the first Russian artist to be signed to Samurai Music. Primarily working in the 170bpm tempo, Torn has grown into one of the most promising talents in underground drum and bass. Debuting on Samurai sister label Shiro in 2017, Torn released his first EP (Internal) for the Samurai Music label in 2018. The Internal EP sees his sculpted malaise reaching a creative peak, completing construction on a distinctive desolation he now inhabits like a second skin. Ivan’s talent is not limited to the 170bpm tempo. He also produces future facing polyrhythmic Techno which has been heavily supported in the sets of Sam KDC and Presha.
