In The Name Of Love

In The Name Of Love

In the Name of Love's opening track, "Step in the Name of Love" pays tribute to the R. Kelly radio hit and dance sensation which has spawned a 'stepping' craze all around the country. Waters says, "Everybody loves this song. It was the perfect song for me to record because the melody translates so well to the saxophone. It's just a great party song and people always fall in love with songs like this. I had to do it." "Sunset" is a free-flowing Waters original that resonates with soul. Like R&B/neo-soul geniuses D'Anglelo/Remi Shand, Kim Waters plays all the instruments heard on the track with the exception of the guitar. Waters co-wrote the house-tinged, bass-thumping "In Deep" with DJ Davey D. Check out how his spiraling sax lines bump and dance around the song's seriously funk groove. A stand out track on In the Name of Love is the Kim Waters ballad "All I Wanna Do (Is Please You)" dedicated to his wife Penny. The song features the multi-talented Waters! on vocals and virtually all of the instruments heard on the track.  "For the Groove in You," another original, is reminiscent of smooth jazz pioneer Grover Washington Jr.- possessing the perfect balance of R&B and jazz leaving listeners rocking to the beat. Waters also features the upbeat "Cross My Heart" penned by fellow chart-topper and label-mate, guitarist Chuck Loeb. In the Name of Love also includes Waters' take on the classic Barry White & the Love Unlimited Orchestra's song "Love's Theme." This gem from the past is sure to bring on some nostalgia as his spoken introduction suggests. Also included is a bonus track featuring a remix of "The Ride" which was a #1 single from Waters' last recording Someone to Love You. Waters and Davey D have really got a lock on their fusion of R&B/jazz and club house mixes.
