A Damsel in Distress
"Damsel in Distress" (the literal translation meaning: "a girl is broken-hearted") is the fourth studio album of Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein, a celebrity singer from Burma (Myanmar). She is a pop-rock singer with a powerful voice and astounding stage performance. The Grammy winning American singer Jason Mraz during the MTV-Exit Live in Yangon featured her in a duet “Lucky”.
The album consists of eleven songs, the style of music ranging from pop, pop-rock, ballad-rock to modern rock. The Lazy Club music band together with nine local composers created the music. The lyrics find resonance among youngsters as they reflect the reality of their passion and frustration. While maintaining the simplicity, they achieve to paint the complexity of human nature. In one particular song, track 7, she mimics the cat's meow while singing in the reincarnation of a sly lady cat in a satirical manner, winning the applause from her large fan base as well as her critics.
