The New House
The music by The Bliss does not fall easily into any category.
Angela, Piero and all the artists who participated to the recording of the band's last (and third) album have a jazz background and this jazz influence can be felt in most of the compositions. Their music, however, is neither mainstream jazz nor the clichè that has come to be known as "smooth jazz" in recent years.
On the other hand, 9 of the 12 tracks of "The New House" are built over house grooves, 115 to 130 bpm, profusely infused with chillout and lounge elements. The New House, however, cannot be said to be a house CD.
Therefore, the definition provided by Reinhard Karl of AllThatJazz.de ("jazz you can actually dance to") is probably the best way to identify a music that combines house grooves, chillout flavors and strong jazz and R&B influences.
The New House was produced in 2005 by CHmusiq Productions in Geneva (Switzerland).
