“Shotgun” was one of the first songs Ezra wrote for his second album, but the last song to be included in it. He penned the track after spending time on top of the mountain Montjuïc in Barcelona. The lyrics also make reference to Australia and George’s experience of the country. The colours “yellow and green,” refer to the national colours of Australia.
